A badminton court fit-out is one of the most common and cost-effective sports investments for enterprise campuses. The process still has more variables than most facility teams expect going in, here is what actually matters.
Space requirements
A standard singles/doubles badminton court requires a minimum clear area of 13.4m x 6.1m, with at least 2m clearance on all sides and a ceiling height of 9m minimum. Most corporate spaces fall slightly short, we routinely adjust layouts to make the most of available space while maintaining playable standards.
Flooring options and trade-offs
- PU synthetic flooring, best for indoor climate-controlled spaces, excellent grip and shock absorption, typical lifespan of 8 to 10 years
- Wooden sprung floor, premium feel, higher cost, preferred for dedicated sports facilities
- Vinyl/linoleum on concrete, budget option, adequate for casual play but not ideal for serious use
What the installation timeline looks like
A standard single-court fit-out typically runs 7 to 10 working days from clearance: 2 days floor preparation, 3 to 4 days flooring installation and curing, 1 to 2 days net system and pole installation, 1 day markings and finishing. Multi-court installations or renovation projects involving structural changes will take longer, budget 3 to 4 weeks for a 3+ court facility.
What a trustworthy installer will hand over without being asked
Before signing: ask for GST-compliant invoicing, a warranty on flooring and hardware, a documented SLA for post-installation defects, and references from at least two enterprise campus installations of similar scope. A reliable vendor will provide all four without hesitation.
