What is included in a badminton court setup cost?

A complete single-court badminton installation for a corporate campus includes: flooring (the largest cost component), net and post system, line marking, lighting rated at minimum 300 to 500 lux for recreational play, and installation labour. Most enterprise installations also include GST-compliant documentation, a post-installation defect warranty, and at least one preventive maintenance visit in year one. The cost varies significantly by flooring type, this single choice is usually what drives the total project budget more than anything else.

Cost by flooring type (single court, 2026)

  • Vinyl / PVC on concrete, the most economical option. Adequate for casual play. Lifespan 4 to 6 years with maintenance.
  • PU synthetic sports flooring, mid-range. Best value for corporate use. Shock-absorbing, low-maintenance, 8 to 10 year lifespan.
  • Wooden sprung floor, the premium option for dedicated sports facilities. Preferred by serious players, highest resale value for the space.

What adds to the cost

Beyond flooring, budget for sports lighting (fixture type and count drive it), net and poles (tournament-grade costs more), line marking, and any civil work such as wall padding or a false ceiling for clearance. Multi-court projects get meaningful economies of scale on flooring and installation. Renovations that remove existing flooring add to the cost of each court.

Annual maintenance cost

An AMC for a corporate badminton court is priced on the court and the tier you choose, and covers preventive visits, net and grip replacements, court cleaning, and minor repairs. Consumables (shuttlecocks, grips, overgrips) are usually billed separately at actuals. Without an AMC, reactive repair costs tend to run meaningfully higher over a three-year period than under a structured maintenance contract.

Before you sign anything

Verify that the quote includes: GST-compliant invoicing, a minimum 1-year warranty on flooring and hardware, documented SLA for post-installation defects (typically 72-hour response), and at least two enterprise campus references of comparable scope. A reliable installer will provide all of these without being asked twice. If a vendor cannot share installation references, treat it as a red flag regardless of price.
