Table tennis is usually the cheapest sport to add to a corporate campus, and also the easiest to under-plan for. A single ITTF-regulation table costs between 25,000 and 1.5 lakh rupees depending on grade, but the real budget question is what surrounds the table, not the table itself.
Cost by table grade
- Standard indoor table, 25,000 to 45,000 rupees. Suitable for casual break-room play, 18mm to 22mm tabletop thickness.
- Competition-grade table, 50,000 to 1 lakh rupees. ITTF-approved 25mm tabletop, consistent ball bounce, preferred for serious internal leagues.
- Outdoor weatherproof table, 35,000 to 70,000 rupees. Concrete or composite construction for open campus courtyards.
Space and installation requirements
ITTF regulation play requires a minimum clear area of 14m by 7m per table, though a usable recreational setup fits in 8m by 5m with reduced spectator space. Installation for a single table takes half a day, assembly, levelling and accessory setup. Multi-table game rooms are typically ready in 1 to 2 days, including flooring markings and lighting checks.
What adds to the total cost
Budget separately for paddles and balls (2,000 to 8,000 rupees for a starter set of 8 paddles), a table cover for outdoor installations, and adequate lighting rated at minimum 300 lux directly over the table. Multi-table orders (3 or more) usually see a modest pricing benefit on bulk procurement.
Maintenance to plan for
Table tennis tables need minimal upkeep compared to court sports: a quarterly check of net tension and table surface, and paddle rubber replacement roughly every 12 to 18 months with regular use. An AMC is optional for table tennis alone but is usually bundled into a broader campus recreation AMC covering all indoor game equipment.
